Upazila secretary sparks controversy with remarks on office timing

Lipi Dharami, the administrative officer of Gopalpur Union Parishad in Tungipara upazila of Gopalganj, has faced allegations of regularly arriving late at the office, leaving before scheduled time, and harassing service seekers.

When asked about her habitual late attendance, she made a controversial remark, saying, "If all secretaries of the country come to the office on time, then I will also come to the office on time following the rules."

In this regard, the acting chairman and nine members of the union parishad have submitted a written complaint. The deputy director of local government stated that an investigation committee has been formed to look into the allegations, and necessary action will be taken upon investigation.
