Miscreants set fire to a passenger bus of Polli Sheba Paribahan in Saturia upazila of Manikganj at dead of night. The bus was used for carrying garments factory workers. The incident took place at around 1:15 am on Friday (November 6) night in Janna area of Fukurhati union of the upazila. No casualties were reported in this incident.
Mujibur Rahman, warehouse inspector of Saturia Fire Service and Civil Defence Station, said that upon receiving the news, fire service personnel went to the spot and brought the fire under control. A large portion of the bus was burnt in the fire. However, it could not be known immediately who or for what purpose set fire to the bus. Saturia Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammad Mosharraf Hossain said that he was not aware of the matter and necessary steps would be taken after inquiry.
